Voting to affirm senior pastor candidate, brandon rukes

From the Elders at GFCC (On 10/2/2021):

As you all know, the elders have been working on finding a Senior Pastor replacement since July of this year. We’ve posted on multiple job sites, colleges, and church ministry listings. Over the last 3 months, we’ve had 48 applications, of which we have had several candidates that warranted extra attention. After much prayer, discussion, and deliberation, we feel confident that God is showing us the path to move forward.

That path just so happens to look within. Brandon Rukes, our Associate Pastor, has applied for the position of Senior Pastor. Tony Martinez and Bob Rukes had recused themselves from this nominating decision, and the remaining 3 elders (Albert Garcia, John Hageman, and Jon Sarlea) were unanimous in our decision to nominate Brandon for this role. We are thus also announcing a Congregational meeting on Sunday, October 17, after the 10:30 service. This 3 week timeline follows our bylaw procedures.

If affirmed by the congregation, Brandon will assume the role of Senior Pastor, effective immediately after the vote. We encourage each of you to pray for this decision, as everything is done in God’s will and in God’s time. We are all in need of prayer for wisdom and boldness. If you have any questions, please reach out to any one of the elders prior to the Congregational Meeting. This meeting will not be open for a discussion, but simply for a vote. All active members will be allowed to vote at this meeting.

Thank you, let's pray now as we look forward to seeing what God has in store for us here at GFCC!

If you need an absentee ballot, they will be available at the office throughout this week, and will be available on Saturday the 16th before, during, and after the service. Absentee Ballots must be turned in by Saturday, October 16th, no later than 7:00pm to be counted towards the vote. Thank you.

Brandon Rukes' resume can be found here.

Volunteer & Serve

We are a congregation of believers committed to sharing the message of Christ and guiding others towards faith in Him. As a church, we aim to love those in our community with the same love Christ has given to us. The work of our church is aimed at directing others towards the Savior in the hopes that they will encounter the one true God and be transformed by His gracious love for them. Through all we do, say, and preach, we pray that we will shine the light of Christ to all those we encounter.

Give to GFCC Church

Giving is a part of our worship to God. It has been said that you can tell nearly everything about a person by the way they spend their money. Whether you are tithing in obedience to Malachi 3:10 or contributing over and above your tithe as an act of sacrificial generosity, your money will help us minister God’s hope and healing to our community and beyond. We give in order to be blessed, not for fear of anything negative in our lives. We give out of gratitude and love! You can give your gift safely and securely online - this is one of the easiest ways to give to our church. Thank you.
