Our Mission

Our Mission is Helping People Follow Jesus.


We have combined our vision statement and our mission statement into one easy to remember phrase.  We are Helping People Follow Jesus.  As a church, we are called to make disciples of all nations. This means that everyone is called to be a follower of Jesus Christ. Griffith First Christian Church is all about Helping People Follow Jesus. This is based on Matthew 28:18-20 (NIV):


"Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

What We Believe

  1. We believe in the triune God - Father, Son and Spirit.
  2. We believe that Jesus Christ is God's only Son who died on our behalf as the perfect atoning sacrifice for our sins.
  3. We believe that the Bible is the only inspired Word of God.
  4. We believe that all people are sinners and in need of God's forgiveness.
  5. We believe that one accepts God's offer of salvation by grace when you:
    • Believe that Jesus died for your sins (Ephesians 2:8-9)
    • Repent of sin and turn to God for forgiveness (Acts 2:38)
    • Publicly confess your faith in Christ (Romans 10:9-10)
    • Are baptized by immersion for the forgiveness of your sins (Acts 2:38)
