Our Global Outreach Ministry

GFCC Go: Purpose

The Griffith First Christian Church Missions Committee serves by encouraging, resourcing and facilitating involvement in (local,) national and international missions. Particularly focusing on missionaries and missionary organizations that have been approved by the church.

Celina Rukes' Direction

As “Chairman”/ Overseer of the Missions Committee, my vision is to bring GFCC back to focus on our vision. My hope is to have the missions committee grow from a more stationary state we currently reside. I believe there is more of God’s work to be done in accomplishing The Great Commission.

Mission Trips at GFCC

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, all mission trips have been temporarily postponed until further notice. As GFCC Continues to reopen (Check the GFCC Reopening Plan Page for more information), we will continue to monitor travel restrictions and assist/guide/lead where we can.

In the meantime, please consider helping us support one of our Missionaries!

Ratio Christi (Gene Caldaron)

Ratio Christi’s wants to keep students strong in their faith so they can withstand the challenges they face as they go out into the world. We do this in three ways.

  • Arm Students With Reasons to Follow Christ - We bring faith and logic together to give students thought-out for following Jesus Christ. Our goal is to help Christians work through their doubts, and ultimately share Christ with their peers.

  • Equip Professors with Tools to Share Their Faith - With the right encouragement, resources, and platform, professors can share their own faith with the students around them and be a light within their spheres of influence. We help provide these tools.

  • Plant University Clubs Around the World - University students are questioning purpose, faith, and identity. Our nationwide clubs provide a safe place to ask apologetics questions (and give leaders resources to tackle them with confidence).

Christ To the Nations (Eldon Potts)

CHRIST TO THE NATIONS first began in the nations which made up the Soviet Union. Since 1989 the mission has grown to include other countries. We have sent over 1 million copies or portions of God’s Word to the people of Ukraine, Poland, Cuba, Lithuania, Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, and the Philippines. Overseas evangelistic efforts and a Bible Correspondence Institute (now Christ’s College) were started in 1991. Our first Lithuanian Church began in the same year. Bless the Program started in 1994. Sponsors now assist providing help, food, and education for more than 200 children.

Today, as always, our focus is on the Great Commission: TO GO and PREACH, establishing local New Testament Churches and to continue reaching and teaching the national peoples of these vast areas.

Nehemiah Vision Ministries

Our Mission: Moving people from darkness to light; from hopelessness to eternal life.

There are nearly 400 students enrolled at Nehemiah Christian Academy, and another 200 at our adopted academy in Grand Rac. The little clinic grew into a full healthcare center that now runs a main clinic, a nutrition clinic, a dental clinic, and mobile medical clinics. We house around 35-45 short-term mission teams a year. English and summer camps are held for the children in the community. Houses have been built. Lives have been changed. And we are only just getting started- or as Pastor Pierre will say "The best is yet to come."

Bill & Leah DeLaughter

In 2005 Bill and Leah left and began their ministry in Tanzania, Africa.  For 9 years they lived and worked in Arusha.  They began a discipleship effort.  It began small with a few people, but they began multiplying and discipling others, training them in turn to disciple others.  This multiplication has resulted in a movement that is still continuing and spread to various parts of Tanzania.  To date we have had over 5000 people go through the initial (foundational) training, and 750 complete the full training.  300 disciplers have been trained with currently 105-175 actively discipling.  This has resulted in starting over 32 home-based churches.

In 2014, Bill and Leah decided, with the Lord’s leading, to move to the coast, to Tanga.  The coastal region of Tanzania is 80-99% Muslim. It helped them gain an idea of what it will take and how to prepare others for ministry in similar areas.
